~ Reasons To Ride ~

Come to Fairmont WV to ride an NBL sanctioned BMX bicycle track!

Our Goal:
1, Provide a safe, well maintained, family oriented environment for kids & adults to get fit & have fun!

2, Get kids on bikes instead of television & Play Station!

Reasons to ride:

It’s “FREE”! The track is owned and operated by Marion Co Parks & Recreation, with the help of the nonprofit Poor Farm BMX Association. The Track is open to boys & girls, young & old, seven days a week, during daylight hours from May until September. Bring the kids and your bikes & ride when ever you want great exercise. It costs nothing. !

It’s “FUN”! Remember when we were kids, we'd get some bricks, blocks & a piece of plywood & spend hours building ramps & jumping them. Remember how we could ride everywhere on our bikes. I don't know about your ramps, but some of mine were shakey at best. Also the roads now a days have four times the amount of cars on them. Poor Farm BMX track is dirt with asphalt turns and no cars. There are jumps, table tops, doubles, triples, high banked curves and rollers! The track is designed with fun & safety as our goals!

It’s “FAMILY ORIENTED”! We have riders from 4 years olds to 40+! We have riders flying 20 feet through the air and riders who never leave the ground! This is an individual sport you can go as fast or slow as you want, and
NO ONE SITS ON THE BENCH!!
Experience the newest and fastest growing Olympic sport for yourself!

If competition is your thing, we have races every Thursday night, May thru September at 8:00 PM under the lights. To race, you must register with the NBL by completing a license application & paying a license fee of $45. This is good for 1 year and gives you a 1 year subscription to BMX Today Magazine. Registration starts at 6:30 and ends 10 minutes before the race. It costs $8 & everyone gets a trophy! On the other hand, if you like to watch racing, you can just sit a couple feet away from the track, watch the races and once again--It's FREE! So bring your family & friends to ride, watch, or race, it's up to you. The main thing is to come & check out POOR FARM BMX.
Every Tuesday, we have gate practice from 6:30 pm till 8:30 pm allowing you to practice using the starting gate. Cost is just $2.

Directions: Take exit #139 off I-79, turn towards Pricketts Fort State Park and go ½ mile to the stop sign. Take a left and go past Gabriel Brothers and K&T truck stop (BP Station). Take 1st road on the right, after K&T, on to Hoult Road. Go to the Y in the road; take the road that goes straight which is Hoult Road (if you go to the 4 way stop, you turned left at the Y). Go ¼ mile on Hoult Road and take the 1st right. Go ¼ mile and the entrance to the Poor Farm is on the left, just past Blissfield Estates.

*To ride you must wear a full face helmet, long sleeve shirt and long pants. (We have loaner helmets and a race bike for 5 to 10 yr. olds).

We also have a concession stand with snacks & drinks.
